Earning its reputation as one of the best value work-horse reels in the industry, Daiwa’s new BG LT honors and improves upon the foundation of its predecessor. The 26 BG LT exhibits a modernized solid aluminum frame and body cover, maintaining the strength and structural rigidity anglers need to target serious inshore gamefish.

Daiwa’s AIRDRIVE DESIGN components improve overall performance, the AIRDRIVE ROTOR and solid wire AIRDRIVE BAIL serve to eliminate any rotational wobble or vibration and give the angler lightening fast control of the retrieve. Now featuring Daiwa’s strengthened TOUGH DIGIGEAR, the BG LT provides smoother and more powerful cranking power empowering anglers to apply maximum pressure with unwavering confidence.

The BG LT series is built for all matter of inshore and light-surf applications, the spool is outfitted with a braid-ready gasket to eliminate the need for braid-backing and provide secure attachment for monofilament or fluorocarbon too. Finished with a T-shape soft touch handle knob for ergonomic and powerful grip and the same direct-drive screw on handle, the BG LT is here to provide the newest technology and perform with the same reliability that anglers have come to love from Daiwa’s BG series.

AIRDRIVE DESIGN – Lightness, Power & Precision Combined: AIRDRIVE DESIGN represents Daiwa’s cutting-edge innovation in spinning reel engineering, built around four core components—AIRDRIVE ROTOR, AIRDRIVE BAIL, AIRDRIVE SPOOL, and AIRDRIVE SHAFT. This integrated system delivers unmatched lightness, responsiveness, and control to elevate the angling experience. The AIRDRIVE ROTOR, made from lightweight ZAION material, is 16% lighter than previous designs, reducing inertia for smoother, more responsive rotation. The AIRDRIVE BAIL, featuring a slimmer, hollow structure, cuts weight by 33%, improving line flow and minimizing tangles. AIRDRIVE SPOOL contributes to overall weight reduction and balance while enhancing oscillation performance. The AIRDRIVE SHAFT, with its non-contact design supported by dual bearings, minimizes friction for quieter rotation and improved torque. Together, these technologies deliver refined lure control, effortless casting, and powerful reeling—setting a new benchmark in spinning reel design.
AIRDRIVE ROTOR
Low inertia is the key.
The newly developed AIRDRIVE ROTOR is made from ZAION. Maintaining the strength of the rotor from 18 EXIST, DAIWA has been able to reduce the weight significantly. Designed with focus to create a perfectly round structure, trouble free and flawless rotation have been achieved.
The rotor unit itself has seen a 16% weight reduction compared to the previous model (Based on 2500 size reel) and will set the standard for what future rotor design of small spinning reels will be.
AIRDRIVE BAIL
Trouble free future.
DAIWA has constructed a bail smaller in diameter whilst providing required strength to achieve a further weight reduction to the front unit. In comparison to 18 EXIST, AIRDRIVE BAIL reduces the weight of the bail by 33% (compared to 2500 size).
DAIWA has adjusted the angle of bail setting to improve the line movement into the roller. Careful attention was given to the roller and slider and individual design alterations were done for each size of 22 EXIST, perfectly adjusting the line management for each size of the reel.
ATD
The biggest issue with many drag systems is that they are not smooth at the beginning of the drag.
ATD is fine tuned to react more quickly, the instant line release is required. This smoother start up eliminates the ‘snatch’ that previously occurred when tension inertia was overcome.
ATD also implements structural changes to the spool metal of the reel that provides greater support of the spool across the entire length of the main shaft. This additional support reduces spool twist under load, promotes more even pressure on the drag washers and ultimately reduces "pulsing" of the drag when fighting the fish.
TOUGH DIGIGEAR
An evolution of Daiwa’s renowned Digigear system, Tough Digigear is designed for maximum strength, smoothness, and efficiency. By refining every detail—including gear diameter, thickness, tooth shape, and size—Daiwa has created a stronger, more durable gearing system that enhances both power transfer and longevity. With improved materials and larger gear components, it delivers exceptional reliability for long-lasting performance in any fishing environment.
CRBB
Shielded for extra protection. Unlike ordinary "corrosion resistant" bearings with un unprotected open race, DAIWA's CRBB ball bearings are shielded to seal out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives for even longer life.
CRBB ball bearings feature an 12 times higher corrosion resistance than usual ball bearings.
