Few baitcast reels share the same reputation as the original Daiwa Zillion. A strong and durable bait cast reel capable of handling anything you can throw at it. Zillion has found its place in Scandinavia, where durability and strength are of the utmost importance. The brand-new 21 Zillion SV is the first total redesign of Zillion in many years. The heart of it all is a brand-new technology HYPERDRIVE Design. A concept incorporating multiple aspects of reel design to deliver a baitcast reel with few peers.

HYPERDRIVE Digigear is the next evolution of baitcast gear design, taking Daiwa’s Digigear concept to the next level to produce a smoother and stronger reeling sensation with a significant 60% improvement to gear durability.

HYPER Double Support improves the support of the pinion gear. This support in turn helps to extend gear life and increase winding power under load.

HYPER Tough Clutch is a redeveloped thumb bar design which is more durable and stronger than previous variations.

HYPER Armed Housing is the use of Magnesium or Aluminium frame and gear side plate design which holds everything in perfect alignment.

Zillion’s other brand-new feature is an evolution of Daiwa’s SV Concept. SV BOOST is a brand-new two-stage SV concept design that significantly increases casting distance in the latter part of the casting sequence. Zillion’s two-stage SV BOOST design delivers the precise amount of breaking resistance at each stage of the cast, allowing the angler to perfectly account for varying scenarios they may face when on the water.

SV BOOST will have anglers experiencing effortless long-casting performance and the SV Concept will mean that Zillion is as versatile as ever.

TWS（T-WING SYSTEM）

Daiwa’s T-Wing System (TWS) is a groundbreaking innovation that enhances casting performance by addressing the limitations of traditional level wind systems. Unlike conventional designs that restrict line flow, TWS features a T-shaped line guide that reduces friction, minimizes line angle, and allows for a smoother, more efficient cast. This results in longer, more accurate casts with less effort, while also decreasing line noise and backlash. During retrieval, the line settles into the narrow lower channel of the T-Wing for even and precise distribution across the spool. With TWS, Daiwa continues to redefine baitcasting reel performance, providing anglers with superior casting efficiency.

This innovative system is built on four key elements: Hyper Armed Housing – a rigid metal frame (magnesium or aluminum) that eliminates flex and keeps internal components perfectly aligned; Hyperdrive Digigear – a precision-machined gear system with larger, stronger teeth for superior smoothness and endurance; Hyper Double Support – a dual ball-bearing support system for the pinion gear, enhancing power transmission and durability; and Hyper Tough Clutch – a reinforced clutch mechanism that stays securely engaged even under extreme casting pressure.

HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT

The HYPER DRIVE DESIGN concept comprises a combination of different manufacturing techniques, which considerably improve the functioning and the lifespan of a baitcasting reel.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT – the pinion gear is mounted via each a ball
bearing at both sides, leading to a better and more even power transmission
from the handle. The surface of the pinion gear is specially treated to prevent
electrostatic corrosion.

SV BOOST – Smooth Control Meets Extended Casting Distance: SV BOOST builds on the trouble-free performance of the SV concept, introducing a two-stage BOOST mechanism that dynamically adjusts braking force based on spool rotation speed. At the start of the cast, the system instantly applies maximum braking to suppress backlash during the high-speed phase. As the cast progresses, braking force is reduced in two stages—allowing the lure to maintain a smooth, extended trajectory through the mid and final phases of flight. This intelligent braking profile delivers both casting comfort and long-distance performance, making SV BOOST ideal for anglers who demand precision, control, and reach in every cast.
