DAIWA Technology

JOG POWER LEVER

The power lever has been repositioned to the centre of the body, and its design has been changed from a lever to a jog dial style. This allows the angler to perform reeling and engage or disengage the clutch using just the thumb of the hand holding the Rod, completely freeing the other hand from operating the lever so that the angler can concentrate fully on handling the Rod. This flexible one-thumb operation enables precise control of the lever, allowing the angler to adjust the reeling speed at will.

MAGSEALED BALL BEARING

Using its proprietary technology, DAIWA has succeeded in becoming the first in the world to apply MAGSEALED technology to the ball bearing itself. A wall of magnetic fluid prevents water and foreign particles from entering the interior of the ball bearing, thereby significantly reducing rust, salt deposits and abnormal noises whilst maintaining the ball bearing’s inherent rotational performance.

New-design aluminium JOG power lever

A new-design JOG power lever that further enhances intuitive operation with the thumb. The aluminium ridges, cut at an angle, provide excellent finger grip and mould to the pad of the thumb, further improving grip performance. This makes fine adjustments, as well as winding, decelerating and setting the hook, more comfortable—even with wet fingertips or whilst wearing gloves.

MAGMAX-G motor (3-year, 300 km warranty)

MAGSEALED ball bearings

Used on the spool shaft on the side plate side, which is difficult to maintain and most prone to salt build-up. This helps to maintain the initial performance of the spool’s FREE action and winding efficiency.

Fall Brake Dial

A braking system that allows you to set the retrieval speed instantly with a single thumb. You can control the system from Spool-FREE to maximum braking across a 180-degree range with a single thumb.
Not only does it prevent Backlash, but it also allows you to detect bites from Bait as the lure falls, as well as strikes from Fish and Squid during the Fall, without having to use your finger to control the line.

Dot-matrix LCD counter

The on-screen prompts are clear and the various settings are easy to understand. Furthermore, the large-font display offers excellent visibility, even in backlit conditions, making it easy to read out in the field. As the motorised winding does not engage at depths of 0.0 or below, concerns about the line becoming entangled are eliminated.

Motor ON/OFF-linked clutch

When winding the JOG power lever, if the clutch is disengaged whilst the electric winch is operating (motor rotating), the motor will stop momentarily; when the clutch is re-engaged, the electric winch (motor rotation) will automatically resume.
When the clutch is engaged, the reel starts winding with excellent responsiveness. This makes it easier to detect bites during the fall.

*Thanks to the reinforced clutch, ON/OFF operation is also possible whilst the winch is at maximum winding speed.

This electric reel is compatible with 12V to 16.8V direct current (DC). It cannot be used with power sources outside the specified range, such as 100V alternating current (AC) from a domestic mains supply or 24V DC from boat equipment. Furthermore, due to generators and wiring, the voltage of a boat power supply can easily become unstable, which may cause the reel’s protection circuit to activate, resulting in the reel stopping or rotating intermittently. To ensure the reel performs to its full potential, please use a genuine Daiwa battery designed for electric reels (please check ‘View Details’ for compatible batteries).
