The TIERRA IC 150/300-C is a low-profile IC reel compatible with DAIWA CONNECTED.
Designed in accordance with the ‘Hyperdrive Design’ concept, the TIERRA IC 150/300-C delivers the winding performance required for offshore fishing whilst achieving a high level of body rigidity rivalling that of round-body reels. Even in the tough conditions of offshore fishing, it can be used over the long term whilst maintaining its initial spinning performance.
Thanks to the excellent palming performance unique to low-profile reels, it offers a high level of manoeuvrability, allowing you to control the Lure’s action exactly as you wish.
The drag system utilises the ATD, a highly durable drag mechanism that operates smoothly. Furthermore, the synergistic effect of the electronic drag sound and the synchronised level-wind mechanism ensures an even smoother line release.
In addition to its high standard of performance as an offshore reel, its compatibility with DAIWA CONNECTED has dramatically simplified the various settings for IC reels—which were previously complex. This allows you to monitor not only the water depth, which could previously only be checked via the IC counter, but also the depth of a Jig released at an angle whilst drift fishing. You can now access more practical information instantly. Furthermore, you can select features such as the Depth Alarm and electronic drag sound according to your preferences, and choose to listen to them via your smartphone or earphones. Moreover, the various recorded data contribute to improving your skills, allowing you to continue enjoying fishing even when you’re away from the water.

DAIWA Technology

HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
A next-generation design philosophy for Bait (two-axis) reels, which significantly raises the standard of all fundamental performance characteristics with the aim of ensuring that high initial performance is sustained over the long term. The Hyper Drive Design comprises up to four technologies. It requires the incorporation of the HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR, which ensures smooth rotation over the long term, alongside HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT, which assists gear drive to deliver powerful yet effortless winding. The HYPER ARMED HOUSING provides robust internal structural support, making it resistant to flexing and distortion. The HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH features an insulated structure that ensures continuous operation even in harsh environments, whilst drastically reducing seizure caused by salt build-up. The synergistic effect of these features ensures consistently stable performance across all fishing environments.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system engineered to ensure consistently strong and smooth rotation. This is DAIWA’s proprietary technology, which achieves long-lasting initial smoothness by increasing the meshing ratio without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth—a factor directly linked to durability.
Furthermore, the HYPER Digi Gear in the 150-C series features a wider tooth profile. It delivers smooth rotation from low to high loads.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that ensures sustained smoothness whilst delivering winding power with effortless reeling. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two ball bearings to ensure high precision, it does not dampen the input from the handle, enabling powerful yet effortless winding even under load.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)
A case system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, delivering a refined winding feel and power. The use of metal for the frame—the core component—is essential; combined with the side plates and set plates, this ensures that the fundamental performance is maintained over the long term.
In this series, aluminium alloy is used for the frame, side plate (on the handle side) and set plate. This delivers high winding performance that is on a par with that of round reels.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does it offer crisp on-off performance capable of enduring thousands, even tens of thousands, of sliding cycles, but it is also a clutch system that experiences extremely few problems even in seawater with high salinity. Its cutting-edge insulation structure has already achieved a 99 per cent reduction in the number of repairs for seizing in harsh saltwater environments, compared to our previous models.
ATD
The ATD operates smoothly in response to the fish’s pull and maintains a consistent drag. Designed to minimise slippage and ensure excellent tracking, it allows you to concentrate on the fight without having to worry about drag settings.

Other Features

SYNCHRO LEVEL WIND
A mechanism whereby the level wind’s left-to-right reciprocating motion is synchronised with the spool’s rotation, both during the descent and reeling of the rig. Not only does this ensure the line remains neatly wound, but the movement during descent also facilitates a smooth descent of the rig.

Electronic Drag Sound
‘Smoother than ever. High-performance drag for next-generation Baitcasting reels.’
A function that detects spool rotation and signals the engagement of the drag with an ‘electronic beep’.
The conventional click mechanism (mechanical structure) plays a vital role in conveying the drag’s operation to the angler. However, physical resistance was generated within the ratchet mechanism and the sound-producing pin mechanism located inside the drive gear.
By removing this mechanical mechanism and incorporating an ‘electronic drag sound’, it has become possible to achieve both smooth drag performance and a more audible drag sound.

Mechanical Brake Knob (Quick-Release Type)
‘Mechanical brake knob allowing for instant adjustment’

A mechanical brake knob that allows for ‘quick’ adjustments in an instant. It enables significant changes to the setting with fewer turns of the knob than usual. This makes it possible to quickly adjust for slight undercasts or the descent of jigs.

It is fitted with a 75–85 mm aluminium Crank handle, designed with a handle arm length that makes it easy to use in a variety of jigging scenarios, such as when targeting bluefish with a single-pitch jerk.

This 150-size reel is fitted with a 70 mm AL handle, designed with a handle arm length that makes it easy to use in a variety of Jigging situations.
130 mm aluminium lure arms (150XH-DH-C, 150XHL-DH-C)
‘Handle arms and knobs designed to help you sense changes in the current, ideal for constant-speed reeling.’

With a focus on winding performance, the handle has been redesigned as a long handle—ideal for constant-speed reeling that prioritises sensitivity to detect changes in the current.
In particular, the 130 mm long handle is a special specification designed to eliminate the increased effort required when reeling, which is a consequence of the higher Gear ratio.
With a 65 mm single handle, you need to use a specific technique for reeling at a constant speed, but,
The introduction of the 130 mm long handle makes it possible to perform smooth reeling even in high gear and to maintain a constant reeling speed.
Furthermore, the Power Light Knob MM, which prioritises a secure grip, has been adopted.
