JOG POWER LEVER
The power lever has been repositioned to the centre of the body, and its design has been changed from a lever to a jog dial style. This allows the angler to perform reeling and engage or disengage the clutch using just the thumb of the hand holding the Rod, completely freeing the other hand from operating the lever so that the angler can concentrate fully on handling the Rod. This flexible one-thumb operation enables precise control of the lever, allowing the angler to adjust the reeling speed at will.
MAGSEALED BALL BEARING
Using its proprietary technology, DAIWA has succeeded in becoming the first in the world to apply MAGSEALED technology to the ball bearing itself. A wall of magnetic fluid prevents water and foreign particles from entering the interior of the ball bearing, thereby significantly reducing rust, salt deposits and abnormal noises whilst maintaining the ball bearing’s inherent rotational performance.

We have thoroughly optimised the angle and shape of the groove to ensure that the JOG control operated by the left thumb on the handle feels even more responsive. This prevents the finger from slipping along the groove, enabling precise control.

MAGSEALED ball bearings
Used on the spool shaft on the side plate side, which is difficult to maintain and most prone to salt build-up. This helps to maintain the initial performance of the spool’s free-running action and winding efficiency.
Fall Brake Dial
A braking system that allows you to set the retrieval speed instantly with a single thumb. You can control the system from Spool-FREE to maximum braking across a 180-degree range with a single thumb.
Not only does it prevent Backlash, but it also allows you to detect bites from Bait as the lure falls, as well as strikes from Fish and Squid whilst the lure is falling, without having to use your finger to control the line.

Dot-matrix LCD counter
The on-screen prompts are clear and the various settings are easy to understand. Furthermore, the large-font display offers excellent visibility, even in backlit conditions, making it easy to read out in the field. As the motorised winding does not engage at depths of 0.0 or below, concerns about the line becoming entangled are eliminated.

Depth Alarm

Motor ON/OFF-linked clutch
If the clutch is disengaged whilst the electric winding machine is operating (motor running), the motor will stop momentarily; when the clutch is re-engaged, the electric winding machine (motor) will automatically resume operation.

REMOTE JOG [Sold separately]
The electric reel connects to the REMOTE JOG.

Until now, the only way to wind an electric reel was to operate the reel itself.
However, with the introduction of REMOTE JOG, it has become possible to control the winding operations (start, stop and speed adjustment) without having to touch the reel directly.
The REMOTE JOG winding mechanism utilises DAIWA Technology’s ‘JOG Power Lever’.
You can now perform the cable winding right at your fingertips, just like operating a TV remote control.
Of course, it’s not just about the winding operation.
The LCD screen on the REMOTE JOG synchronises with the electric reel to display the water depth at all times.
It’s just like a portable electric reel.
You never know when the fish might take the bait.
When fishing with a rod left in place, your reaction is a split second slower when you’re away from the reel.
However, with REMOTE JOG, actions such as baiting the fish and setting the hook whilst winding can be performed instantly.
Another handy feature is being able to check the water depth right at your fingertips.
For example, when fishing in deep waters, if the captain specifies a depth of several hundred metres, it takes a considerable amount of time to retrieve the Rig and land the fish.
Until now, I’ve had to keep glancing at the LCD screen on the reel whilst reeling in, but with REMOTE JOG, I can check the water depth at a glance without having to worry about the FUNE’s motion or glare from the sun on the screen.
