HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)

MAGSEALED BALL BEARING
Using its proprietary technology, DAIWA has succeeded in becoming the first in the world to apply MAGSEALED technology to the ball bearing itself. A wall of magnetic fluid prevents water and foreign particles from entering the interior of the ball bearing, thereby significantly reducing rust, salt deposits and abnormal noises whilst maintaining the ball bearing’s inherent rotational performance.

G1 duralumin is a special aluminium-based alloy that offers twice the strength of magnesium and 1.3 times that of ultra-high-strength duralumin. I’ve always been absolutely smitten with the STEEZ A TW—which I’ve used as a powerful, solid-feeling reel for Futoshi line—and now, with the addition of HYPERDRIVE DESIGN, the reeling feels even smoother. What’s particularly noteworthy is the feel when reeling in cranks and spinnerbaits at a gear ratio of 6.3. The vibrations and changes in blade rotation are transmitted clearly and in fine detail, making it easy to visualise what’s happening underwater. I think this is an advantage unique to the all-metal ‘A’ model. I tend to use the 8.5 for fishing styles that require quick, repetitive casts, such as frogs and other casting lures, whilst the 7.1 is my go-to for techniques like heavy Carolina rigs and Texas rig bottom tracing.
Its casting performance is also worth a special mention. The MAG-ZBOOST sends heavy Carolina rigs flying beautifully. Paired with the STEEZ Strike Force, it casts even further, and as it reliably picks up bites from a distance, you can set the hook firmly and avoid losing fish.
