HVF NANOPLUS

‘High-density HVF carbon’—which reduces the amount of resin whilst increasing the density of the carbon fibres—is the ideal material for rods designed to prioritise toughness and strength. By combining Toray Industries, Inc.’s Nanoalloy Technology with DAIWA’s proprietary manufacturing process, it is possible to achieve even greater strength and lighter weight.

X45

To prevent twisting that occurs during actions such as casting, retrieving, hooking and fighting, many years of research have led to the conclusion that, in addition to conventional structures (0° and 90° relative to the rod tip), reeling a ‘45°’ bias cross (carbon fibres angled at ±45°, for example) is the optimal solution for preventing twisting. The incorporation of X45 prevents twisting and delivers a dramatic improvement in power, manoeuvrability and sensitivity.

In the world of electric jigging rods, where you rarely need to carry multiple rods, this is an all-rounder model that lets you enjoy fishing for everything from bluefish to bottom-dwelling fish with just a single rod.
J63B-4G	An electric jigging model featuring a low-rebound blank that is gentle on the body even during high-speed reeling. Designed for electric jigging using the widely used PE3–4 line and 200–300g jigs. The J63B-4G is constructed primarily from glass fibre, delivering a very supple action whilst maintaining ample power. Particularly during high-speed electric retrieves, the rod absorbs the Jig’s erratic movements, enticing fish with a smooth, natural action. It bends deeply upon a strike, absorbing the fish’s run and minimising the risk of losing the catch. Furthermore, in terms of physical strain, the low-modulus glass material reduces tension compared to the J60B-4, significantly reducing fatigue even after a full day’s fishing. This model is particularly recommended for anglers who lack confidence in their stamina or strength.
J63B-2	An ‘electric light jigging’ model designed specifically for use with a ‘small electric reel (200-class)’ and ‘thinner PE line (No. 1–2)’. As it is often difficult to carry several sets of electric jigging tackle onto a FUNE, this Rod has been designed to be as versatile as possible. The blank is designed to combine the resilience of a slow Jigging rod with the suppleness required for light Jigging,The result is a single rod capable of handling a wide range of fishing styles: from inshore bluefish and Cutlassfish targeted at depths of 50–100 metres with Jigs in the 100–200g class, to red seabream targeted in the mid-depths at depths exceeding 250 metres using a slow-style technique with Jigs of around 300g—even if this exceeds the recommended size range.
J60B-6	An ‘electric jigging’ model specifically designed for use with the ‘SEABORG G400J’ and PE line sizes 5–6. Whilst powerful, the blank’s tension has been deliberately reduced to minimise physical exertion during prolonged jerking or when fighting large fish. A model designed for targeting 50kg-class tuna and large Amberjack using heavy Jigs in deep waters or areas with strong currents. *Please note that the J60B-6 cannot be fitted with any reel other than the SEABORG G400J in the size 400 range.

As you’re usually only allowed to bring one set of electric Jigging tackle onto a FUNE, it’s essential that it’s versatile enough to cope with a variety of situations.
We have two Types available in this NEOSTAGE DG range; whilst they differ only in their action, both are designed to be ideal for electric Jigging with the frequently used PE3–4, 150–300g class Jigs. Therefore, either Type would be a good choice, but to summarise their features briefly...
The ‘J60B-4’ prioritises jig manoeuvrability, so the blank has been designed to have a slight amount of tension. It is ideal for anglers who want to work their jigs effectively when targeting bottom-dwelling fish or bluefish such as yellowtail amberjack.
On the other hand, as the ‘J63B-4G’ is made from glass composite, it has been designed to be slightly more supple whilst maintaining the same strength. As a result, it’s incredibly easy to use for techniques such as targeting sea bream with fast, electric jerks, as it hooks well and the fish are less likely to come off the hook. What’s more, it offers low recoil and is gentle on the body, so I would definitely recommend this model to anyone who isn’t confident in their physical stamina.
I think that if you try any of these models, you’ll be surprised to find that ‘such a slim rod can deliver this much power?’. And as they’re in an affordable price range, I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who’s been fishing from a FUNE, or to those who’ve been doing manual Jigging but are now keen to give electric Jigging a go.
