The TOUGH LIGHT MONSTER is based on the SEABORG 300J and offers even greater durability. At its heart is the MAGMAX-G motor (3-year warranty), delivering four times the durability of the base model. As a high-durability brush motor, it delivers a responsive rotation feel and powerful performance. In terms of operability, it features a clutch that synchronises with the motor’s ON/OFF function. The JOG winding position remains unchanged, offering a responsive start-up when the clutch is engaged and, when disengaged, allowing the motor to stop so you can detect bites whilst the lure is in the Fall. In terms of functionality, ‘Jigging Mode’, ‘Depth Alarm’ and ‘Electronic Drag Sound’ have been added. When reeling by hand, one handle rotation retrieves 83 cm, and the 75–85 mm adjustable handle arm allows for a Baiting action equivalent to that of the SALTIGA dual-axis models. The 3.0 mm inner diameter of the level wind ensures a reliable design capable of accommodating even a No. 30 Leader. With a tough setup suitable not only for higher-grade targets but also for electric Jigging, its weight of 575g makes it comfortable to hold, and this lightness translates into enhanced sensitivity.

JOG POWER LEVER
The power lever has been repositioned to the centre of the body, and its design has been changed from a lever to a jog dial style. This allows the angler to perform reeling and engage or disengage the clutch using just the thumb of the hand holding the Rod, completely freeing the other hand from operating the lever so that the angler can concentrate fully on handling the Rod. This flexible one-thumb operation enables precise control of the lever, allowing the angler to adjust the reeling speed at will.
MAGSEALED BALL BEARING
Using its proprietary technology, DAIWA has succeeded in becoming the first in the world to apply MAGSEALED technology to the ball bearing itself. A wall of magnetic fluid prevents water and foreign particles from entering the interior of the ball bearing, thereby significantly reducing rust, salt deposits and abnormal noises whilst maintaining the ball bearing’s inherent rotational performance.
ATD
The ATD operates smoothly in response to the fish’s pull and maintains a consistent drag. Designed to minimise slippage and ensure excellent tracking, it allows you to concentrate on the fight without having to worry about drag settings.

■MAGSEALED BALL BEARING [Magsealed Ball Bearing]
Used on the spool shaft on the side plate side, which is difficult to maintain and most prone to salt build-up. This helps to maintain the initial performance of the spool’s free-running action and winding efficiency.
ATD [Automatic Drag System]
A new-generation drag system that operates smoothly in response to the fish’s pull and maintains consistent drag performance. For compact spinning reels and electric reels, the focus is on achieving a smooth initial release and responsive tracking. For large spinning reels such as the SALTIGA, the system is designed to minimise any reduction in Drag Force during the fight. Both have been developed with the aim of allowing anglers to concentrate fully on the fight without having to worry about drag settings.

As well as preventing Backlash, it improves Bait presentation during the descent without the need to thumb the spool, enabling you to detect bites from Squid in the mid-water column during Bottom Fishing, and to catch bites from Fish during the Fall when Jigging.
