The ultimate technical short-spinning jigging rod, allowing you to manoeuvre the jig exactly as you wish.
As the name suggests, it was developed with the aim of achieving technical manoeuvrability, based on the concept of being able to control the Jig exactly as intended in any situation.
Its most distinctive feature—the short length of 5ft 5inch—allows you to experience outstanding manoeuvrability, a feeling of lightness and reduced physical strain.
Furthermore, by fitting the ‘AGS Type R’ and CWS to the Short Length × SVF Nano Plus (M40X) blank, it achieves a whole new level of sensitivity.
Once you’ve got this TECHNICAL STEER in hand and head out onto the water, you’ll be able to experience a whole new kind of Jigging.

DAIWA Technology

X45 FULL SHIELD

The X45 FULL SHIELD construction utilises a 45° carbon bias weave, applied from the outermost layer—where it is most effective—at the tip of the blank, the area most prone to twisting during actions such as casting, retrieving, hooking and fighting. This dramatically improves torsional rigidity, enabling greater casting accuracy than ever before and allowing the Rod to deliver its full potential.

SVF NANOPLUS

By combining Toray Industries, Inc.’s Nanoalloy Technology with ultra-high-density carbon SVF—which delivers lightness, power and a slimmer profile—using DAIWA’s proprietary manufacturing process, we have achieved even greater strength and lightness.

AGS

The AGS (AIR GUIDE SYSTEM), which delivers both lightness and high sensitivity, utilises a carbon fibre frame. Thanks to the properties of carbon fibre—which offers approximately three times the rigidity of titanium—it possesses a high level of sensitivity, transmitting even the slightest signals along the line directly to the blank without any loss. Furthermore, the lightness of the carbon fibre contributes to the overall lightness of the rod; in particular, the reduction in weight at the Rod Tip is expected to provide an additional boost to sensitivity.

CWS (CARBON WRAPPING SYSTEM)

DAIWA’s proprietary technology for securing guides and reel seats to the blank.
By securing components using tightly woven carbon fibre fabric rather than thread, the weight of the mounting points has been reduced. Furthermore, this CWS system offers improved holding power (torsional rigidity at the guide mounting points) and durability (crack resistance). The distinctive appearance of the carbon fibre fabric gives it a striking presence.

ZERO SEAT

ZERO SEAT is a new design concept for reel seats, aimed at allowing anglers to enjoy fishing to the full, free from stress.

55S-2.5	A lightweight model designed to minimise physical strain. It offers great versatility, handling everything from speedy jerks down to depths of 40 metres and beyond, to slow, controlled baiting in deep areas where the Jig’s movement is kept to a minimum. A light-power Rod compatible with PE line No. 2.5 and jig weights up to 220g.
55S-3	The all-rounder at the heart of the series. Boasting the series’ greatest versatility, this model enables the angler to achieve their ideal jig action at any depth. A all-round rod compatible with PE No. 3 line and jig weights up to 250g.
55S-4	The series’ most powerful model, designed for deep-water fishing. With a line run of over 80 metres, its powerful blank allows for the effortless control of even the heaviest jigs, enabling a head-on battle with bluefish weighing over 10 kg. By giving the tip greater tension than other models, it delivers a direct feel when manoeuvring the jig. A high-power rod compatible with No. 4 PE line and jig weights of up to 300g.
