It has power and tension, yet retains just the right amount of ‘softness’

The concept behind the BULLSWING is ‘distance’. From the very first time I tried it out on the field, I could feel that it offered a whole new level of distance, as well as tremendous power. I think it’s a rod that has just the right amount of ‘give’, and doesn’t have too much tension. It makes it easy to get the hang of Casting, and once you’ve got the hang of it, you can achieve overwhelming distance. I mainly used the No. 8, and thanks to its light weight, it’s easy to swing through.
With longer rods such as the 88-8, whilst you might initially think, ‘It’s too long—will it be a struggle?’, they actually bend just the right amount, so even anglers lacking in strength can swing them through fully and send the Lure flying. With rods that prioritise tension, you need considerable strength to achieve good casting distance, but the BULLSWING is characterised by how easily it allows you to transfer the Lure’s weight onto the Rod. It’s neither too stiff nor too soft, and I find it extremely easy to handle. The combination of the light feel when casting through and the centrifugal force generated by its length really helps it fly a long way.
The rod features an RV guide system. The line runs through it exceptionally smoothly, with virtually no drag. In GT casting, distance directly translates into opportunities. The advantage of increased casting distance is significant.

Fighting performance that combines power and ease of handling

I was also impressed by the tension and the sheer power it exerts when lifting fish out of the water. The lifting power is incredibly strong; you can really feel the force bringing the fish to the surface. Although it has this lifting power, the fight isn’t a struggle; just as when casting, there’s a moderate amount of ‘slack’, so the rod bends nicely. In that sense, I think it’s a ‘power rod that allows anyone to achieve long casting distances’. It’s designed to be very easy to handle, despite its high power.
As far as the grip is concerned, I get the impression that the reel seat is positioned slightly higher. The Rod Butt is longer, and I believe the design has been tailored to provide stability when resting the rod against the side and to ensure balance during the follow-through.
It’s also easy to manoeuvre the Lure whilst holding it under your arm, allowing for a natural feel.
The design is really lovely, isn’t it? I particularly like the area around the reel seat. The nuts used are original metal ones. They complement the SALTIGA reel perfectly and give it a real sense of quality. The ‘BULLSWING’ logo also adds to the overall feel, making for a very stylish finish.

Above all, it flies really well. There’s no tricky technique involved.

I mainly use the SALTIGA C BULLSWING for casting for yellowtail amberjack in the waters stretching from Kita Kyushu to Yamaguchi. The first thing I notice when using the BULLSWING for this type of fishing is, without a doubt, how far it flies.
Whilst this rod has good tension, it is not merely tip-action; it is designed to flex throughout its entire length. Although it is labelled as a ‘Regular-Fast Taper’, it is a rod designed to utilise the inherent elasticity of the blank itself to send lures flying. As a result, it requires no special technique, and anyone can cast lures a long way with it. I consider myself to be of a very average type in terms of build and strength, but every time I cast with this Rod, I’m struck by just how far it flies and how satisfying it feels.

The main one is BREAKTHROUGH. For distance, go for BULLSWING.

What I like most of all is that the SALTIGA C BULLSWING has been designed with the clear concept of ‘distance’ in mind.
In recent years, the number of anglers targeting yellowtail amberjack has increased, and both FUNE technology and anglers’ skills have improved. Against this backdrop, a variety of approaches have become necessary to achieve good catches.
Whilst there are aspects that anglers can compensate for with their own skills, there are also many areas where the right equipment is essential. The BULLSWING is, above all, a Rod designed with a clear focus on ‘casting distance’. I felt it was exactly the kind of Rod that’s needed in this day and age.
Personally, this is my main rod; I plan to use the SALTIGA C BREAKTHROUGH for technical fishing, and when I need distance, I’ll reach for this BULLSWING without hesitation. The Casting game is getting more and more exciting, isn’t it?

It bends easily, making it simple to cast. It offers excellent casting performance.

The SALTIGA C BULLSWING is a rod designed with casting distance and high power in mind. However, it is not simply a rod with strong rebound or one that is merely stiff. Whilst there are various casting styles—such as short or long follow-throughs—I believe the SALTIGA C BULLSWING is a rod that can accommodate any of them. Its casting performance is exceptional. Rather than simply using the Rod’s tension to propel the Lure, you can fully utilise the weight of the Lure by transferring it onto the blank and following through with a full swing.
Powerful anglers can cast with all their might, achieving a significant increase in casting distance. On the other hand, its flexibility makes it easy to get a feel for working the Lure with the Rod, so I believe this is a Rod that anyone—from beginners to seasoned anglers—can use.
The guides are RV-type, which allow the line to run through smoothly, and I think the overall balance is excellent.
Not only is the grip comfortable to hold, but the design also looks great on FUNE.
A lot of thought has clearly gone into the comfort of the grip. I think the length makes it easy to use for everyone, from those of shorter stature to those of greater height. It feels particularly comfortable to hold when the reel is attached. Whilst everyone has their own way of holding the rod, one of its key features is that it’s easy to grip and cast, no matter how you hold it.
I’m also really pleased with the design. The blue and black colour scheme looks absolutely brilliant. It gives a smart, cool impression. As I like to coordinate my gear to match my reels and rods, I’m delighted with this design. I’m truly grateful to have been involved in the development of such a superb Rod. It’s a Rod that’s a real joy to use, so I’d love for as many people as possible to give it a go.
