In addition to the ‘HYPER ARMED HOUSING’—a high-precision, high-rigidity housing produced using the machine-cut manufacturing method that has been a hallmark of every RYOGA model—the ‘HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR’ has also been adopted.
The synergy between these two elements delivers exceptional rigidity—effectively eliminating any play—alongside silky-smooth yet powerful reeling performance.
The braking concepts have been clearly defined for the 100 and 150 models respectively. The 100 adopts the SV concept, whilst the 150 adopts the LC concept. Furthermore, both models are equipped with the ‘BOOST SYSTEM’.
The No. 100 (featuring SV-BOOST) minimises line rise even with lures that generate significant air resistance, delivering a stable flight path. It enables a smooth, effortless cast right through to the end, without the need to exert excessive force.
Model 150 (featuring MAG-Z BOOST) effectively suppresses excessive spool rotation during the initial phase of the cast, which is common when using medium- to heavy-weight lures. It stabilises the lure’s posture and delivers Long Casting performance that cuts through the wind.
This design reflects a thorough commitment to the development of gear ratios, taking the action of ‘reeling’ to its ultimate expression.

DAIWA Technology

HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
A next-generation design philosophy for Bait (two-axis) reels, which significantly raises the standard of all fundamental performance characteristics with the aim of ensuring that high initial performance is sustained over the long term. The Hyper Drive Design comprises up to four technologies. It requires the incorporation of the HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR, which ensures smooth rotation over the long term, alongside HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT, which assists gear drive to deliver powerful yet effortless winding. The HYPER ARMED HOUSING provides robust internal structural support, making it resistant to flexing and distortion. The HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH features an insulated structure that ensures continuous operation even in harsh environments, whilst drastically reducing seizure caused by salt build-up. The synergistic effect of these features ensures consistently stable performance across all fishing environments.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system engineered to ensure consistently strong and smooth rotation. This is DAIWA’s proprietary technology, which achieves long-lasting initial smoothness by increasing the meshing ratio without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth—a factor directly linked to durability.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that ensures sustained smoothness whilst delivering winding power with effortless reeling. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two ball bearings to ensure high precision, it does not dampen the input from the handle, enabling powerful yet effortless winding even under load.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)
A case system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, delivering a refined winding feel and power. The use of metal for the frame—the core component—is essential; combined with the side plates and set plates, this ensures that the fundamental performance is maintained over the long term.
In this series, aluminium alloy is used for the frame, the gear-side side plate and the dial-side set plate. It features a full-metal housing design that delivers unrivalled strength and durability.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does it offer crisp on-off performance capable of enduring thousands, even tens of thousands, of sliding cycles, but it is also a clutch system that experiences extremely few problems even in seawater with high salinity. Its cutting-edge insulation structure has already achieved a 99 per cent reduction in the number of repairs for seizing in harsh saltwater environments, compared to our previous models.
SV-Concept
Super Versatile Concept
Ensures trouble-free fishing in all situations and with all lures. An ultra-versatile brake concept that handles all distances—close, medium and long—and allows for trouble-free use of all lures, from light to medium to heavy weights. It offers a very wide range of compatible rods and lures, and is suitable for lure fishing for numerous species of fish in both saltwater and fresh water.

SV-BOOST
The most distinctive feature of the BOOST mechanism is the two-stage extendable inductor rotor.
SV-BOOST retains the trouble-free nature of the SV concept whilst instantly applying two levels of optimal braking force in accordance with the spool’s rotational speed, resulting in that extra bit of distance during the latter stages of the cast. It is a system that excels in Long Casting whilst maintaining a high level of comfort. The casting response, which contributes to that extra stretch in the latter part of the cast, works by instantly applying maximum braking force to control the initial Backlash zone, before gradually reducing the braking force in two stages from the middle to the latter part of the cast, thereby achieving that extra stretch.

LC-Concept
Its appeal lies in its Long Casting performance and the exhilarating feel of the cast.
A brake concept that excels in Long Casting, enabling greater casting distance in the latter half of the cast. It is particularly well-suited to medium and heavy lures, with casting distance increasing the more sharply you swing the Rod through. The sporty and exhilarating casting feel is also a major attraction of the LC Concept.

MAG-Z BOOST
The BOOST SYSTEM, which maximises the Long Casting performance of the MAGFORCE-Z.
MAG-Z Boost is a distance-focused setup that maximises the Long Casting performance of the MAGFORCE-Z to the absolute limit. Due to its design, which utilises centrifugal force to activate the inductor rotor, the MAGFORCE-Z is not suited to lightweight lures. On the other hand, it is ideal for Long Casting of medium and heavy lures, with casting distance increasing in direct proportion to the force applied. This is where the BOOST revolution comes in. By avoiding the Backlash zone and then instantly reverting one stage, it achieves maximum casting distance with a smooth, extended trajectory from the mid-cast right up to the moment of impact with the water.

ATD
The ATD operates smoothly in response to the fish’s pull and maintains a consistent drag. Designed to minimise slippage and ensure excellent tracking, it allows you to concentrate on the fight without having to worry about drag settings.
ZERO SHAFT
The spool is supported solely by the BB. The shaftless design eliminates all excess resistance, resulting in ideal spool rotation.
In short, it is the cornerstone of a high-output engine designed to prioritise casting performance above all else.
ZERO ADJUSTER
By first adjusting the ‘ZERO ADJUSTER’ and setting the ‘Spool Play Zero’ function, the evolution of the magnetic brake system now makes it possible to control all lures using the magnet dial alone.
The ‘ZERO ADJUSTER’ is a mechanism designed to ensure you can enjoy a comfortable fishing experience without any malfunctions whilst fishing, by adjusting it to the ‘zero setting’ before you start fishing.
*The ‘Zero Spool Play’ setting refers to the setting at which the spool is held just at the limit of not being pressed, whilst retaining a slight amount of play (approximately 0.2 mm).

Improved rotational durability
Compared with the 18RYOGA, there is little reduction in rotational performance, even when subjected to high loads or cumulative stress resulting from prolonged use.
The ‘HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR’ fitted to the 26RYOGA delivers exceptionally smooth rotation and superior gear durability.

A key feature is the high-precision, high-rigidity housing produced using the machine-cut manufacturing method, a hallmark of every RYOGA model. Combined with the HYPER Drive design, this delivers a solid feel and smooth rotation, providing comprehensive support for anglers who are passionate about the ‘reeling style’.
New-design spool (No. 150)
Following a series of field tests, a new narrow design has been adopted.
By designing the angle at which the line is released to be 3.4% shallower, the line’s release during casting is improved.
By optimising the balance between the spool’s diameter and width whilst ensuring sufficient reel capacity, a smooth, flowing trajectory is achieved.
2.0 mm thick, stainless steel reel foot
We have paid particular attention to the thickness of the reel foot, which is just 0.5 mm, and have changed it from the previous 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm.
This thoroughly eliminates any play during casting, when using high-load lures, and whilst fighting a fish.
Furthermore, the material has been changed from aluminium to stainless steel. This ensures the same level of strength as that of a round, twin-spool reel designed for saltwater use.
The design, which makes no compromises even in the smallest details, ensures excellent rigidity.
Drag-and-drop click
In pursuit of high drag performance for landing big fish, we aimed not only for maximum drag but also for class-leading smooth operation that adapts to the fish’s pull.
It also features a drag-release click mechanism. By alerting the angler with an audible signal when the line system is pushed to its absolute limit during a sudden run by a fish, it provides the angler with a significant advantage.

SV100 The spool is made from φ34mm G1 duralumin and features the SV-BOOST system. This design enables effortless casting and maximises casting distance.
Even with retrievable lures that encounter air resistance during reeling, the SV concept enables a low-trajectory, precise approach. Furthermore, the inclusion of the BOOST SYSTEM ensures excellent distance in the latter stages of the reeling. It provides comprehensive support for reeling styles, covering not only medium and short distances but also Long Casting.It delivers its best performance when used with lures that offer relatively low drag during reeling—such as tiny crankbaits and 1/4oz spinnerbaits—and when targeting shallow waters. It is available in two gear ratios: 5.3 (56 cm per handle rotation) and 6.3 (67 cm per handle rotation).
150 The spool features a φ36mm high-strength aluminium MAG-Z BOOST. After field-testing a wide range of materials, high-strength aluminium was selected.
By transferring the weight of medium to heavy lures onto the Rod and ensuring the inertia required for medium to long distances, Long Casting performance has been achieved.
The shape of the line-winding section has been redesigned to optimise line lay. The synergistic effect of these features enables the smooth trajectory and exhilarating casting feel unique to the LC concept.The gear ratio is available in two variants: 5.3 (59 cm per handle rotation), suitable for deep-diving cranks, magnum cranks, large surface lures, and even mid-water dead walks with big baits; and 7.3 (82 cm per handle rotation), designed for deep-water reeling styles that require a high-gear ratio and for those prioritising the manoeuvrability of big baits.It offers a comfortable user experience for reeling styles that favour heavier weights. Furthermore, the 7.3 Gear ratio (150H/HL) model exclusively features a 100 mm long handle and a Power Light M medium Knob. This special specification supports smooth reeling even during jerking actions or under high loads.Designed to prevent line breakage when casting large lures, this reel meets the requirements for heavy-duty line (20lb nylon – 100m, No. 4 PE – 100m). Naturally, it also boasts specifications suitable for saltwater fishing.

*Regarding the sound made during casting*
With spools featuring the BOOST structure, a ‘click’ sound may be heard as the inductor rotor retracts during casting (when the Lure is in flight). Regarding the inductor rotor, which controls braking force, the BOOST system maximises Long Casting performance by returning the rotor faster and with greater force than conventional models, whilst also utilising a longer operating stroke. The return sound of the inductor rotor may be louder than on conventional reels, but this is not a fault. The BOOST system is designed to produce up to two clicks via a two-stage operation, and the volume and frequency of these clicks vary depending on the force applied during Casting.
