The One Answer. ~The True Choice. The One Answer I Have Finally Reached~

‘THE Sweet Spot’ where flight and manoeuvrability come together
Super Versatile’s stronghold remains unshaken

The ‘ZILLION SV TW100’, part of a lineage of legendary reels that embody the very essence of baitcasting, is finally set to undergo its first full model revamp in six years. The ZILLION, a symbol of toughness capable of withstanding the rigours of hard work, now presents the 27ZILLION SV TW100 as the definitive choice in its super-versatile range. Having achieved further enhancements across the board, this unshakeable solution is finally set to make its debut.
It demonstrates outstanding versatility across virtually every conceivable style of bass fishing. If there were a radar chart illustrating the capabilities of a baitcasting reel, the lines radiating outwards would form a regular polygon further outwards. Its strike zone is virtually limitless. Armed with this toughness, it actively takes on not only bass but also saltwater fisheries. There are no boundaries for the ZILLION.
At the heart of its casting performance lies the state-of-the-art ‘SV-BOOST’ braking system, housed within the Φ34mm G1 duralumin spool, which delivers overwhelming casting power. This new braking system—a first for DAIWA baitcasting reels—was developed utilising the INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE digital control braking system, which is featured in the next-generation IM Z baitcasting reel. The optimal casting solution, calculated through data analysis of brake torque values, realises a cast that feels as though the lure is ‘being drawn towards the targeted spot’. It has succeeded in producing the ideal cast and a smooth, flowing trajectory exactly as envisioned.
The inclusion of the Taper TWS, which enhances line-release performance thanks to its large opening, also contributes to even greater casting distance. Furthermore, improvements to the AIR brake components significantly reduce noise during casting, contributing greatly to a clearer, smoother casting feel. This is truly a state-of-the-art brake system that fuses digital and analogue technologies. Casting performance has evolved even further.
Meanwhile, the ‘GRAVITY BALANCE BODY’ is key to the rod’s handling. Aiming to further improve the balance of the tackle felt in the hand when the rod is attached, the position of the centre of gravity on both the left and right sides has been optimised. By adopting the NEW, slim-profile Infinite Stopper and a similarly slim aluminum gear side plate, this has enabled the gear shaft to be shortened—a feat previously impossible due to structural constraints—allowing the handle knob to be moved 4.6 mm closer to the reel foot (compared to the 21ZILLION SV TW). This shift in the centre of gravity has also led to a further reduction in the body’s overall size.
It weighs 175g (the same as the 21ZILLION SV TW). By deliberately maintaining this weight, the design offers a palm-fitting feel that integrates seamlessly with the hand—resulting in what might be described as a linear operating sensation. The optimised centre of gravity minimises wobble to the absolute minimum during both casting and reeling, contributing to pinpoint-accurate casts and unwavering stability during reeling. The optimisation of the centre of gravity is the culmination of DAIWA’s long-standing pursuit of the ideal design for baitcasting reels, extending from the Crank handle. It truly realises ‘THE very centre’.
The ‘27ZILLION SV TW100’ not only remains true to the HYPERDRIVE DESIGN philosophy—which epitomises the ZILLION’s toughness—but has also gained superior reeling performance and comfort. Here lies the new benchmark for super-versatile reels: the definitive answer you’ve been seeking.

DAIWA Technology

HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
A next-generation design philosophy for Bait (two-axis) reels, which significantly raises the standard of all fundamental performance characteristics with the aim of ensuring that high initial performance is sustained over the long term. The Hyper Drive Design comprises up to four technologies. It requires the incorporation of the HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR, which ensures smooth rotation over the long term, alongside HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT, which assists gear drive to deliver powerful yet effortless winding. The HYPER ARMED HOUSING provides robust internal structural support, making it resistant to flexing and distortion. The HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH features an insulated structure that ensures continuous operation even in harsh environments, whilst drastically reducing seizure caused by salt build-up. The synergistic effect of these features ensures consistently stable performance across all fishing environments.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system engineered to ensure consistently strong and smooth rotation. This is DAIWA’s proprietary technology, which achieves long-lasting initial smoothness by increasing the meshing ratio without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth—a factor directly linked to durability.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that ensures sustained smoothness whilst delivering winding power with effortless reeling. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two ball bearings to ensure high precision, it does not dampen the input from the handle, enabling powerful yet effortless winding even under load.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)
A case system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, delivering a refined winding feel and power. The use of metal for the frame—the core component—is essential; combined with the side plates and set plates, this ensures that the fundamental performance is maintained over the long term.
In this series, aluminium alloy is used for the frame, the gear-side side plate and the dial-side set plate. The result is a full-metal housing design offering unrivalled strength and durability.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does it offer crisp on-off performance capable of enduring thousands, even tens of thousands, of sliding cycles, but it is also a clutch system that experiences extremely few problems even in seawater with high salinity. Its cutting-edge insulation structure has already achieved a 99 per cent reduction in the number of repairs for seizing in harsh saltwater environments, compared to our previous models.
ULTIMATECASTING DESIGN
Bringing your imagined casting trajectory to life.

In order to realise the ‘ULTIMATECASTING DESIGN’ that DAIWA has been pursuing for many years, it was necessary to bring together the four elements that significantly influence castability and to maximise the performance of each to the absolute limit.
These features—including the ‘world’s first from DAIWA’, the electromagnetic induction brake [MAGFORCE + variable inductance rotor], as well as [TWS], [G1 duralumin spool] and [ZERO ADJUST]—are all based on DAIWA’s proprietary technology and concepts.
Whether it be the technological innovations DAIWA has built up over the years, or the ULTIMATECASTING DESIGN that has finally been realised and its future evolution, everything is aimed at turning the casting trajectory imagined by anglers into reality.
ULTIMATECASTING ZERO ADJUST
Eliminate the hassle and ambiguity of setting up a secondary brake system

With DAIWA having perfected the main brake (MAGFORCE), there is no need for a secondary (mechanical) brake. Thanks to the Zero Adjuster—born from the [ZERO ADJUST] philosophy—once you have set the ‘spool play to zero’, you can handle any situation simply by adjusting the Mag Dial.
ULTIMATE CASTING LINE GUIDE
The TWS: a unique mechanism that combines the effects of reeling and flying into one.

[TWS] achieves both precise line reeling and an expanded resistance-free range during casting in one fell swoop. This mechanism ensures a smoother flow of line as it is released, dramatically improving the long-casting performance of DAIWA baitcasting reels. Furthermore, TWS is effective in preventing ‘line pile-ups’ and Backlash that previously occurred on the level wind.
ULTIMATECASTING BRAKE
Unchanging superiority. Variable individuality.

A fully ‘contactless’ braking system comprising the ‘MAGFORCE’ electromagnetic induction brake and a ‘variable inductor rotor’ that moves in and out of the magnetic field in response to the Spool’s rotational speed and other factors. Precisely because it is a contactless system that does not rely on friction, it is largely unaffected by operating conditions such as submersion, rain, splashes and humidity; furthermore, as no parts are subject to wear, its performance is virtually permanent. Furthermore, it is precisely because MAGFORCE delivers such consistent braking performance that the Variable Induct Rotor can be designed to offer unique characteristics, such as suitability for lightweight lures, versatility and the ability to achieve ultra-long Long Casting distances thanks to its two-stage variable system.
ULTIMATECASTING SPOOL
High-strength, low-inertia spool made from specialised materials and using advanced processing techniques

Aluminium-based alloys are frequently used for baitcasting reel spools, and the highest-strength, top-grade variant is the G1 Duralumin employed by DAIWA. This material offers twice the strength of magnesium and 1.3 times that of ultra-high-strength Duralumin; when used for spools and designed with strength as the primary criterion, it enables the achievement of exceptional lightness. However, high-precision machining of G1 Duralumin requires advanced manufacturing techniques. It is essential that the material can be designed and machined to an extremely thin profile in order to capitalise on its inherent rigidity and translate it into lightness.
GRAVITY BALANCE BODY
A new compact housing design aimed at optimising the overall centre of gravity balance of the tackle, thereby dramatically improving manoeuvrability during Rod work and when palming the reel, stability whilst reeling, and casting accuracy. Essential to achieving this is the incorporation of DAIWA’s proprietary ‘Slim Infinite Stopper’. By achieving a slimmer profile whilst maintaining the stopper performance required of baitcasting reels, it has been possible to shorten the gear shaft. Placing the handle closer to the reel body delivers an unprecedented feel. It sits comfortably in your hand. Consequently, you can control it exactly as you wish. This sensation will set a new standard for future DAIWA baitcasting reels. Taking the potential of baitcasting reels to the next level.
Second-generation SV CONCEPT
The SV CONCEPT was born as the embodiment of stress-free fishing. Whilst retaining its trouble-free performance, it has been optimised to deliver brake characteristics that prioritise casting distance. The aim was to achieve a smoother casting feel whilst maintaining casting accuracy and low-trajectory casting performance. Furthermore, it covers a wide range of lures—from lightweight to heavyweight—regardless of line type or thickness. A single reel caters to every fishing environment and style. The SV has evolved into a truly super-versatile reel, in both name and reality.
SV BOOST-I
The optimal braking torque has been analysed using the vast amount of casting data accumulated during the development of the ‘INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE (IM)’ digitally controlled brake. ‘-I’ is DAIWA’s proprietary technology that incorporates these braking characteristics into an analogue brake. By incorporating ‘-I’ into the SV-BOOST, it ensures long casting performance and sustained line speed whilst maintaining the SV CONCEPT’s versatility and trouble-free operation. This allows anglers to experience an ideal trajectory—exactly as envisioned—from the moment the line is cast, whether at close, medium or long range, along with an unprecedented casting feel. It expands the possibilities of analogue brakes into new realms.
TWS (T-WING SYSTEM)
TWS has succeeded in significantly reducing resistance at the line guide closest to the spool—the point where spool rotation speed is at its highest. By minimising resistance that impedes casting distance, it not only improves casting distance and control beyond previous levels, but also enables a faster fall and reduces Backlash. This realises a new level of line winding capability not only during reeling but also during the casting action.
UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag)
DAIWA’s drag system eliminates the initial hesitation when the drag first engages, delivering smooth, consistent performance without any jerking, whilst also offering maximum Drag Force that increases the tighter it is set.
ZERO SHAFT
The spool is supported solely by the BB. The shaftless design eliminates all excess resistance, resulting in ideal spool rotation.
In short, it is the cornerstone of a high-output engine designed to prioritise casting performance above all else.

GRAVITY BALANCE BODY

A new compact housing design aimed at optimising the overall centre of gravity balance of the tackle, with the goal of dramatically improving manoeuvrability during Rod work and when palming the reel, stability during reeling, and casting accuracy. Compared to the 21ZILLION SV TW1000, the handle knob is positioned 4.6 mm closer to the reel foot. This optimised centre of gravity minimises wobble to the absolute limit, delivering an unprecedented feel. The more you reel in, the more unwavering the stability becomes, clearly conveying even the slightest movement of the lure. Everything is at the angler’s fingertips.
Slim-profile Infinite Stopper (first photo)
The slim Infinite Stopper plays a major role in achieving the GRAVITY BALANCE BODY. Developed exclusively by DAIWA, it is approximately 38.8 per cent slimmer than its predecessor whilst maintaining the same strength as a stopper.

φ34mm G1 Duralumin SV-BOOST Spool
Bringing innovation to casting performance.
The latest brake settings utilising Intelligent MagForce in brake development.
With the 27ZILLION SV TW100 series, we have embarked on a first-of-its-kind initiative. By utilising brake torque analysis based on Intelligent MagForce technology, we have sought to achieve the ideal cast and a smooth, flowing trajectory. In addition to being suitable for a wide range of lures, from lightweight to heavyweight, the series delivers an ideal cast and a smooth, flowing trajectory not only at medium and short ranges but also for Long Casting.
Solid-centre pinion
Compared to the conventional hollow pinion (left in the photograph), the solid-structure pinion (right in the photograph), achieved through UCD (ULTIMATE CASTING DESIGN), is highly resistant to the loads generated when the gears mesh firmly; for the same diameter and Gear ratio, it offers a strength increase of more than 20 per cent compared to the conventional design.
By enhancing the strength of the pinion, we have created a high-rigidity gear system that does not rely on increasing the gear diameter, thereby significantly improving the rotational durability of the HYPERDRIVE Digi Gear, which is renowned for its strength.
Oil Injection Cap
In line with the sub-brake-less specification, the zero adjuster has been discontinued. The 27ZILLION SV TW100 is fitted with an oil injection cap.
The cap can be removed using the specialised tool provided. Removing the cap allows for lubrication and maintenance of the pinion ball bearing.
Taper TWS
Designed to reduce line-release resistance during casting—in other words, to ‘expand the resistance-free range’—this model features a tapered TWS specifically designed for φ34mm/24mm-width lines. The opening has been expanded by approximately 31 per cent compared to conventional sizes. Furthermore, line-release performance has been maximised through the synergistic effect of this design and a special ‘DLC’ surface treatment. With this enhanced line-release performance, it delivers a casting feel that makes you ‘want to cast again and again’.
New ZAION Star Drag
This model features a new, slimmer ZAION star drag compared to previous ZAION star drags. Designed to improve handling, its shape enables a more confident fight.
Click to extend the drawer
In pursuit of high drag performance for landing big fish, we aimed to be number one in our class not only in terms of maximum drag but also in terms of smooth operation that adapts to the fish’s pull.
It also features a drag-release click mechanism. By alerting the angler with an audible signal when the line system is pushed to its absolute limit during a sudden run by a fish, it provides the angler with a significant advantage.

Kyoya Fujita: ‘The best tackle leads to confidence. The reel that enables me to compete on the world stage’

The 21ZILLION is the reel that has moved me the most throughout my fishing career. That hasn’t changed since the very first time I laid eyes on it. It’s comfortable to hold, casts exactly as intended, and has just the right weight. It feels superb when reeling in, and I can’t find a single flaw. It’s irreplaceable; I always have several of them lined up on my deck. When I’m competing in tournaments, I never have to worry about any aspect of its performance. I don’t think I’d have achieved the results I have so far if I hadn’t been using the ZILLION.
My battered 21ZILLON. That reel I love so dearly is changing. At first, I felt that, no matter what I added or took away, it would be difficult to make it any better than it already was. I wanted to keep using it just as it was forever. I’d even declared that, even if a new model came out, I’d stick with the old one. I didn’t need any minor model updates. I thought it couldn’t be improved upon. But I can say this with absolute certainty:
‘This clearly goes beyond expectations.’ The moment I cast it for the first time, everything I’d believed up to that point was turned on its head. I realised that a reel had been created that far surpassed my wildest dreams.
Taper TWS. This mechanism features a tapered opening that increases the cross-sectional area, further improving line flow. And SV-BOOST. This is the first model to feature a new braking system designed to achieve the ideal trajectory, derived from the INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE technology used in the IMZ.
If I had to describe that flight in a single word, it would be ‘transparency’. The trajectory is such that it feels as though ‘the lure is melting into the water’s surface, or being drawn into the spot you’re aiming for’. The distance achieved on long casts—something I’d never experienced before—and the exhilarating casting feel. That was the initial sensation.
There’s nothing more satisfying than landing a lure exactly where you aimed. Just the act of casting makes fishing a joy. Casting is what takes up the most time during a day’s fishing. That’s precisely why the feel of the cast is so important.
You can cast your Lure exactly where you want it to go, following the trajectory you’ve imagined. Whether you’re doing Shore/Bank Fishing or using a boat, casting distance is crucial. Whether you land that one fish or not depends entirely on whether your cast reaches that spot. In a competition, that one fish can make all the difference.
The compact body was also quite striking when it came to handling. When I gave it a reel, I noticed that the handle was positioned quite close to the centre of the body. When I first saw this, I wasn’t sure if it was really a good thing. However, I realised just how effective it was the moment I started shaking it whilst reeling. ‘Linear reeling’. You can control the Lure with a ‘feeling as though you’re connected to it’.
Bass fishing often involves reeling in with a baitcasting reel. Whilst a smooth retrieve is, of course, important, high sensitivity is also crucial. Whilst the Rod is important for visualising how the Lure is moving underwater, the information transmitted through both hands is paramount. It goes without saying that you need to be able to detect a bite. But you also need to know the Lure’s position and at what depth it is swimming. Whether you can pick up on the slightest changes underwater is directly linked to whether the fish takes the bait or not.
I want to feel confident about the line I’m targeting. Even if the distance is right, you won’t catch anything unless the Lure is moving properly. If I’m confident, I can stick with that spot, whilst also being able to move on immediately if necessary. It’s the reeling sensitivity that gives me that confidence—whether I can manoeuvre the Lure exactly as I intend whilst sensing its condition. It has exceeded my expectations for what I look for in a Baitcasting reel.
Weight: 175g. I don’t believe that the lighter the reel itself is, the better. It has just the right feel to it. Heavy, long rods are the norm for Bait fishing. The centre of gravity tends to shift towards the tip. I want to bring the centre of gravity closer to the handle. If it’s too light, the tip becomes top-heavy; if it’s too heavy, it simply feels cumbersome. At 175g, it’s the perfect weight for handling. This allows for the same nimble handling as the previous model.
The 27ZILLION, surpassing the 21ZILLION that I loved so dearly. ‘I’m using the very best tackle right now.’ That’s what gives me confidence. I can’t blame any mistakes on the reel. With my back against the wall, I’ll make sure to land that one fish that could change my life. The reel that will see me compete on the world stage has been born here.

*Regarding the sound made during casting*
With spools featuring the BOOST structure, a ‘click’ sound may be heard as the inductor rotor retracts during casting (when the Lure is in flight). Regarding the inductor rotor, which controls braking force, the BOOST system maximises Long Casting performance by returning the rotor faster and with greater force than conventional models, whilst also utilising a longer operating stroke. The return sound of the inductor rotor may be louder than on conventional reels, but this is not a fault. The BOOST system is designed to produce up to two clicks via a two-stage operation, and the volume and frequency of these clicks vary depending on the force applied during Casting.
