Providing enjoyment and positive feeling to fisherman for years.

Daiwa's evolution has always been associated with their state-of-the-art technology.

Setting the new standard of fishing reels.
Since Daiwa was founded in 1958, Daiwa has been developing products to be the first to meet the ever changing market needs. It should be to no one's surprise that Daiwa has been the first in the world to create many innovative technologies. Daiwa's reel producing technology is considered to be one of the best in the world. Only a few years after Daiwa was founded it was to be "the reel of choice." With Daiwa's development of the "Open-Faced reel" in 1965 it sparked the market. Unlike a Closed-faced reel the spool is outside of the reel, allowing the user to wind more line onto the spool with a faster spin and improved feel. With this completely new shape this new reel concept shocked the world.
Daiwa's development of new materials.
We cannot talk about Daiwa's technology without mentioning their development of new materials. Specifically, Daiwa's focus on carbon fibers from its very early years around 1979. Daiwa was the first manufacturer in the world to incorporate graphite to both reel bodies and rotors. Using densely-packed carbon fibers for fishing rods certainly left a bold impression, too. "When it comes to carbon fibers, it's Daiwa." After countless improvements and new developments, in 2007 Daiwa debuted its new material called Zaion: a new high density carbon fiber material that even exceeds metal in some aspects. In 2010 Daiwa developed "Z-SVF", a high density carbon fiber sheet with a minimal amount of resin. Daiwa uses Z-SVF: in their rods to create some of the lightest weight rods on the market. Daiwa's carbon fiber technology has been unrivaled in the industry ever since it's inception.
Setting a completely new standard by releasing "MAGSEALED"
In 2010, Daiwa incorporated the world's most advanced "space engineering" technology into their reels. This game-changing technology is called "MAGSEALED". A water and dust-resistant function that also keeps the reel feeling like new and makes it spin faster through the use of MAGOIL. A new era of reels has been created that relieves the stresses of reel maintenance for the angler.
Daiwa, always evolving
Daiwa technologists all inherit the company's passion for technological advancement. The passion to provide surprise and enjoyment to anyone that fishes is what keeps Daiwa's technology evolving now and in the future.
